Join us on the banks of the River Thames for an improvised vocal work by Antonia, as we gather for the midway point of our first creative residency at Pepys Community Hub.

Antonia has spent the last decade studying the relationship between time, space, and materials. Often working outside traditional gallery contexts, she adapts to each environment through inquisitive, long-form modes of collective learning she likes to call soft research, playfully unpacking the natural and cultural elements of each site. From the forests of Norfolk, the Venetian lagoon, coast of West Cork and streets of Palermo. Today the banks of the River Thames, Pepys Estate and the Former Royal Dockyard.

This work marks a decade in creative practice, the midway point of the two year residency, and a turning point; her first public movement and vocal work. During her residency she has been exploring how patterns and structures exist both in the built environment, thought, and our bodies. Asking what ideas belong to us, what has been imposed upon us, and what we choose to take forward.

We will meet at Pepys Community Hub Library from 6:30pm on Sunday 25th October. The piece will start at 6:50pm lasting approximately 40 minutes, followed by light bites in The Library courtesy of Scotch and Spice. BYOB. This will be a chance to listen and exchange thoughts on the residency and view 60 years of the Pepys Estate: What a Palava currently on show in The Longshore Room.

Suggested ticket price £10, but please pay what you can. We are a community space and no one will be turned away due to cost. If you can and would like to donate more this is also welcomed.
